I am Tilin, a Welsh corgi and wine country dog, aka @winecountrydog.
I started pawin the puter and dooin social media in 2008, after I had life-saving back surgery and had to sit-stay to recover. That is when I came to create wine country dog ezine™ — an independent pet-ezine.
My ancient self does have a few health pawblems, but my ortho surgeon gave me a chance to walk again. Other good vets and Mum have helped too. Myself goin wobbly but strong toward 17th BD in November 2014.
Luv to paw-write and tweet, and travel to meet new furriends and nice humans. Some of them write about wine or craft beer or food and health. Wine country has got nommy fresh whole foods and farmers markets. And wine country means most effurrywhere in world these days eh.
You find that my furbro, Jackie Nippers Corgi, does sometimes join me on adventures and on twitter. Our beloved Ani Meezer rarely does.
All three of us were rescued from diffurrent circumstances. Furbro is a "breeder rescue." We doo encourage adoption of furriends from good animal rescue charities. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Howlo. I am Jackie Nippers Corgi (aka pawlitico™).
You may find me on walkies with furbro Tilin Corgi, and out at wine tastings and regional food adventures up and down Pacific coast. Sometimes on social media with furbro. We like to paw-write tasting notes for wine and food.

By early December 2009, the world-renowned barkers of San Francisco's Pier 39 had disappeared.
Back in October 2009, humans at The Marine Mammal Center in nearby Sausalito had noticed that S.F. sea lion numbers were dwindling. Before long, almost everybuddy in the 1,700-member sea lion colony had gone missing.
It's not true that the sea lions left 'cuz of a dog named Rez who frightened them during an encounter at Hyde Street Pier in Fisherman's Wharf.
By the way, dog furriends, we hope you know that chasing sea lions is not in keeping with the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
The sea lions' sudden depawture must've taken a bite out of tourism along San Francisco's docks. Pawsonally, though, we love howl these flippy furriends baffled humans with their disappearance.
Finally, weeks after the disappearance, humans on the southern Oregon coast repawt that they're hosting many of S.F.'s finest.
Sea lion interviews are being conducted.
Mystery solved! You've heard the answer right from a San Francisco sea lion's mouth: "We're not missing. We're just on vacation."
Apparently they're finding good grub in Oregon's colder waters.
Paw-note: If you talk with any S.F. sea lions, the humans at @TravelCoosBay on twitter would love to get a tweet from you about it.
Many humans find my reverse mohawk fetching. To name two, there's Kyrana, a vet tech at Coddingtown Veterinary Clinic, and Jill, the hair stylist at Kids Cuts in Rohnert Park. Then there are the people who stare at me funny when I'm out walking. They've never seen a dog with his back shaved?
When the temperature hits triple-digits, dogs and humans alike look enviously at me.
My rev mo is THE cool cut for hot wine country summer — an instant classic that should be in every trendsetting groomer's repertoire. You don't have to remove as much hair as I had to for my back surgery though.
If you're spending a lot of time outdoors looking cool, be safe and use pet sunblock. Yes, you dogs need sunscreen to protect sensitive skin if you're going to be out in the sun jogging, playing, sailing, and stuff. Just don't tell me you're stuck in the sun 'cuz you're riding in the back of a pickup!
The Mohawk hairstyle comes from the practice by long-haired Mohawk Nation warriors of cutting their hair when they went off to war. They left just a narrow strip about three-fingers' wide down the middle of the scalp from their forehead to the nape of their neck.
There are many mohawk spinoffs, like the fauxhawk. You humans can ask for mo spins at a salon like Hairdoo Voodoo in the Lower Haight, San Francisco. This salon gets top paw on Yelp. I want to go see Margaret, the owner, 'cuz they say she's "a genius and goddess of all things follicle."
I wish the health laws didn't keep me from having my rev mo edginess redone in a people place.
Our pawpetual question: Why do dogs and cats get canned and kibbled foodstuffs 'stead of fresh foods? If you live 'ere in wine country or other place where fresh whole foods are plentiful, why not support local markets and make your own pet foods?
